A lovely old restaurant in a side street just back from the Notre Dame cathedral. The food was good, the ambience was warm, eclectic and felt like I was in the owners own home having dinner…especially when the cat wandered in and curled up on one of the dining chairs. The only criticism on the night was the service was lacking. I think that was due to confusion between the owner and other staff.
I had a booking for 2 for lunch made months in advance from overseas. I had an expectation of being seated in this historic dining room. The waiter seemed determined we should sit outside for reasons best known to him. We waited an age for an order to be taken. Bread arrived at the 30 minute point and some food at the forty minute mark. Bitterly disappointed with food and service. Don’t bother.
We did not like it. Our reservation was not valid they said. The restaurant was full and they could not take our reservation. On top of that they were unpolite. No excuses. Nothing. This is was a bad experience and I would not recommend this place.
I honestly don’t know why this place has a rating under 4.0 on Google. The service is excelent, the food incredible and the premises unique. It’s not cheap but being Paris is a great price for all you get. This all makes a great experience.
